Together We Stand

“if any one slew a person … it would be as if he slew the whole humanity: and if any one saved a person, it would be as if he saved the whole humanity”. Quran 5:32

We, at the Al-Mahdi Islamic Community Centre, are shocked to learn of the horrifying car attack on a Muslim family in London, ON last evening. Four of the five members of the same family lost their lives in this tragedy and a sole survivor, aged 9, remains in the hospital in serious but stable condition.

The London Police have confirmed that the attack was intentional and the victims were targeted due to their Islamic faith.

We offer our condolences to the family of the deceased and pray for the child facing this unfathomable loss. This is a difficult time for us. However, we stand strong and steadfast against all forms of hate and look towards a society free of Islamophobia.

We know that there are many in the London community that stand with us during this time of grief and we pray for the safety of all.
