Assalamualaikum to all members of the Al-Mahdi Islamic Community Centre,
Today we write to you with some exciting news.
We are thrilled to announce a significant transformation of our mosque: the launch of our brand-new website and phone app, reimagined logo and branding! After many years of an outdated platform and design, we’ve taken a major step forward by redesigning our website and branding from the ground up to better serve our community’s needs today, and for the future.
Our goal was to create a space where our community could easily access resources, events, and updates that keep us connected in a visually-pleasing way. This new website is both functional and reflective of the needs of today, and is designed to enhance your experience and strengthen our connection, so that we can better serve you. Here are some of the new changes you can expect:
-
Prayer Times and Islamic Dates: A new, accessible prayer times and calendar section, with Islamic dates and events directly linked.
-
New Programs Pages: Updated and newly-redesigned Scouts, Madressa, Youth and Islamic School Project Pages.
-
Events, Announcements and News Corner: Creation of an events and new/community announcements page where you can find information quickly and easily of what’s happening in and around the community. The events page will feature all Centre programs and events, with details right at your fingertips.
-
New Forms Portal: New forms portal including quick access to membership applications, private centre rental, volunteering, and poster/email. requests for weekly announcements.
-
Resources and Partnerships: a resource page for Muslims and those interested in learning about Islam, including resources on drafting wills, islamic educational resources, registered charities for Sadaqa, local partnerships, and more.
-
Khums Page: A new Khums page to raise awareness of the Khums Ijazas (permission) the Al-Mahdi Centre has and to help you understand and fulfill your Islamic obligations.
-
Updated Content: Newly added and re-written content to provide useful information and highlight Al-Mahdi’s offerings, services, and activities, in addition to updated graphics and personalized, community-oriented photos.
A Fresh Visual Identity: New Logo & Branding
Alongside the website, we’re proud to introduce a new centre logo and a carefully curated colour palette that symbolize renewal, unity, and faith. This modern yet timeless design reflects our deep roots and aspirations for growth.
-
The New Logo: Thoughtfully crafted, our new logo represents the balance of our heritage and our forward-looking vision. The words “Al-Mahdi” in Arabic calligraphy blends traditional elements with modern design. The domed-shape arch symbolizes us as a community of followers of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s).
-
New Color Palette: Elegant and inviting hues that reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our community, using Islamic colours that symbolize the grandeur of Allah (swt)’s creations (Royal Blue) and the royalty and purity of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s) (Gold), the new colour palette is timeless and significant.
-
Reimagined Materials: Our branding will extend beyond digital spaces to include a redesigned podium, letterhead, signage, and more. These updates will create a cohesive experience, whether you’re visiting the mosque or engaging online.
Let’s Look Ahead Together! These transformations were made possible by many hours of collaboration and effort, and over 1,200 hours of dedicated work by a passionate volunteer team over the past few months.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Br. Rashid and the Masjid-360 team for their ongoing support, and to Br. Bashir Haiderali for his design submission and contributions to our redesigned logo.
But this is just the beginning! Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out even more enhancements, including improved communication tools, and exciting new features to better serve our community. Plus, look members can look forward to a dedicated app that will be released shortly!
And don’t forget, we value your feedback! Please share your thoughts and suggestions with us by sending an email to secretariat@almahdicentre.org.
