CENTRE USAGE FOR PRIVATE EVENTS

For Private Majalis (i.e. non-Fatiha events), Fatiha Programs (i.e. mourning events), and other small gatherings, the Centre requires at least a 48-hour notice.

For Weddings, Banquets, and Larger Gatherings, the Centre requires at least a 2-week notice.

Cost:

  • $400 for Non-Members
  • $150 for Members

MEMBERSHIP

Becoming a member allows you to vote in our biennial elections and funds from your monthly fee can help cover the Centre’s operating expenses.

FUNERAL AND BURIAL SERVICES

Who to Contact in the Event of Death
The next of kin or a family representative should contact either Br. Ahmad Samhat @ 519-702-5752 or Br. Nazih Mroue @ 519-702-9390 who are our Funeral Services Coordinators. They will guide you on the protocols of how the body of the deceased should be positioned. They will also request that you kindly complete the online Funeral Services Application Form at the link below that is also available on our website. It is important that the application be filled out accurately so we know who to contact and the funeral services required. It is also important that the proof of death also be enclosed when submitting the form.

What Funeral Services We Provide
Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre Funeral Services include ghusl, a kafan, shrouding, a coffin and leading salaat janazah at the Centre as well as recitation of talqeen at the Cemetery. Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre will also help coordinate with the Funeral Home and Cemetery for timing of the transport of the body of the deceased to/from the Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre. Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre Funeral Services representatives will assist the next of kin or family representative by providing contact information for the Funeral Home and Cemetery, if needed. This is necessary in order for the next of kin and family to arrange and pay for the burial certificate, transportation, purchase of a plot (if required) and other burial related costs. It is the responsibility of the next of kin and family to meet the Funeral Home and Cemetery representatives to complete all necessary documentation and arrange for payment of related costs.

What are the Approximate Funeral and Burial Services Costs
The total approximate cost for the funeral and burial services is approximately $7,000 to $7,500. This is based on a burial currently at the London Islamic Cemetery. This cost includes a plot, vault, opening and closing, transportation, a burial certificate, casket, kafan and hadiya. This amount includes that charged by the Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre for the funeral services rendered and supplies and utilities used which is $450 for Registered Members and $700 for Non Members of Almahdi Almuntathar Union.
